It’s a Pipe Lifter, But Better. And Now You Can Get One From MW Piping.
What’s the Easiest Way to Move a Pipe? With The Claw
The Claw is a below-the-hook lifting device engineered specifically for handling pipe and pipe assemblies. But here’s what’s different: it has polyethylene teeth, or claws, that grab the pipe and hold it. With the Claw the pipe won’t roll. It doesn’t even have to be centered. The claw holds the pipe – it is contained.
No strap, no swamper, no tagline.
You pick up the pipe and maneuver it where you want with no chance of colliding with other equipment, or worse, people. The Claw gives your team the ability to safely move and manipulate pipes and sub-assemblies with unmatched control and efficiency.
Built for demanding shop and jobsite environments, The Claw grabs the load, lifts it, and transports it exactly where it needs to go—without the need for manual guiding or excessive crew support.
Fast
With other pipe lifters, you have a safety man out there strapping, trying to hit the center, so it’s not all cockeyed. When it’s lifted, there’s a good chance it’s not centered correctly, which means it could fall. So the operator lays it back down, the spotter moves the strap over, and it’s lifted again. Only this time it’s tilting a little the other way. So the operator has to bring it back down, the swamper moves it over a foot, it’s lifted up and now it’s straight.
You’ve handled that pipe 3 times so far. It was a 3-4 minute operation. With The Claw this would take 15-20 seconds: reach down, grab it, and you’re out.
A lot of things can happen if those pipes begin to roll.
Everyone’s heard (or experienced) a story like this: A pipe is swinging, a worker is trying to secure it, it rolls on his hand and slices off fingers. The Claw gets the spotter away from that hookup point, a notoriously dangerous spot.
Increased Safety on Every Lift
Safety is built into every function of The Claw.
The Claw includes cameras situated in key areas, giving the operator a clear view on a monitor inside the cab. Because the operator maintains full hydraulic control from inside the cab, no additional personnel are required to guide the load outside the forklift. This significantly reduces the risk of jobsite injuries and keeps your team out of harm’s way.
Works With Off-Center Handling and No Strapping
Because the claw securely grips the pipe, the pipe doesn’t need to be centered or strapped. The pipe won’t roll, swing, sway or spin.
Saves Labor
No assistance needed
Since you don’t need a spotter out there on the ground, close to the pipe, that worker can get back in the trailer, or do something else that’s a better use of his skills.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does The Claw attachment weigh?
The Claw weighs 1,800 lbs, providing the strength and stability required for demanding pipe handling applications.
What pipe sizes can The Claw lift?
The Claw is designed to handle pipes ranging from 2 inches to 24 inches in diameter, including pipe assemblies and sub-assemblies.
What equipment is The Claw compatible with?
The Claw is configured for telehandlers and compatible lift equipment equipped with auxiliary hydraulic circuits for quick-coupling and in-cab control.
Does The Claw improve jobsite safety?
Yes. The Claw allows the operator to control the lift entirely from inside the cab, reducing the need for ground personnel to guide loads and minimizing jobsite risk.
